Mythology Project
You will research a god or goddess from mythology. You may choose a culture from the
following list: Greek; Roman; Norse; Egyptian; Japanese; Chinese; Native American.
You must answer the following questions in your research (examples are in italics—you may

Project Ideas--This will be due December 10
- Choose one god or goddess from any culture and write a short story (3 paragraphs minimum) about their daily life with the people who worship them. For example: You could write a story about Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and how she helps Greek students study.
- Choose one god or goddess and create a portrait. The portrait must have characteristics of the god or goddess. For example: You could draw a picture of Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt, and put bows, arrows, and animals surrounding her.
- Choose a few gods or goddesses and create a comic strip (4 panels at least). It can be funny or dramatic. For example: you could choose to write about three Norse gods and goddesses and their daily life in Asgard.
- Choose a culture and write a newspaper about the gods and goddesses, including a weather report, sport report, and current event. You could write about the Japanese culture and how the latest earthquake was caused by the Namazu, how the Butsu team won against the Amida, and the Chien-Shin region and their new buildings.
- Choose a god or goddess and write a letter to it as a person from the culture it is from (3 paragraphs at least). You could write a letter to Flora as a Roman citizen, thanking her for the lovely flowers.
- Create an advertisement as one of the gods or goddesses, promoting a product that represents you. For example: Neptune could make an advertisement about the ocean and protecting the seas.
- Create a set of diary entries as a god or goddess (at least 5 entries) For example: Anubis could write about his daily life with mummification.
- Create a coat of arms--4 symbols on a shield to represent the god or goddess.
